From middle school to the boards
Each stage has its own focus, and the move between them is planned so nothing is rushed.
Middle School
Eight core subjects with weekly lab and library periods. Students take a second language, Sanskrit or French, from Class VI.
Secondary
The CBSE curriculum leading to the Class X board exam, with regular science practicals and social-science project work.
Senior Secondary
Three streams, Science (PCM and PCB), Commerce, and Humanities, with career counselling from Class XI.
How we teach and assess
Curriculum
Udaan follows the CBSE curriculum. Classes VI to VIII study languages, mathematics, science, social science, and computer science, with art, music, and physical education timetabled every week.
Languages
English and Hindi run through all years. Students add a third language, Sanskrit or French, from Class VI.
Senior Secondary streams
- Science: Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics (PCM) or Biology (PCB), with Computer Science or Physical Education as an elective.
- Commerce: Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics, with Mathematics or Informatics Practices as an elective.
- Humanities: History, Political Science, and Geography or Psychology, with Economics as an elective.
Assessment
Middle years use two terms with periodic class tests and project work. Classes IX to XII follow the CBSE scheme of internal assessment and board examination. Parents see a written report at the close of each term.
Co-curricular programme
Four houses
Every student joins a house, competing through the year in sport, debate, and the arts.
Science and maths clubs
Weekly clubs prepare students for olympiads and the annual exhibition.
Music, dance, and art
Studios for keyboard, tabla, and classical dance, and an art room used across the week.
Sport most afternoons
Cricket, athletics, basketball, table tennis, and chess, with coaching by trained staff.
